Will My Ex Come Back? Here's What I Would Want to Know More...
Let’s be real. When you still have feelings for someone, “Will my ex come back?” can become the question that goes around and around in your head.
Did they miss me today? Why did they watch my Story? Why haven’t they deleted our pictures? Why did they suddenly like something after three months? Are they happy with someone else? Are they thinking about me too?
I hear these questions all the time in my readings.
And after more than 30 years of doing this, I can tell you - you are definitely not the only one wondering.
So if you’re sitting there thinking about your ex, here are seven things I’d probably talk about with you if you were sitting across from me.
1. Why did the two of you actually break up?
Not the quick answer. The real one.
Was it timing? Distance? Another person? Too many arguments? One person wanting more than the other?
Because sometimes two people really do love each other, but something between them just wasn’t working.
And sometimes time apart changes that. Sometimes it doesn’t.
2. Do you miss them… or do you miss your life with them?
There’s a difference, and sometimes it takes a while to figure it out.
Maybe you miss Sunday mornings together. Their ridiculous texts. Having someone to call at the end of the day. Maybe you miss them.
Usually, if I’m being truthful, it’s probably a little bit of everything.
3. And then there are those little “signs”...
Oh, I know this one.
They watched your Story.
They stopped watching your Story.
They still have your pictures up.
They blocked you. Then unblocked you.
They liked something they definitely had to scroll pretty far down to find.
Does it mean something? Maybe.
But one little Instagram moment doesn't tell us the whole story. It can mean curiosity, missing you, thinking about you - or simply having a moment.
And yes, this is exactly the kind of thing people ask me about in readings.
4. What if they actually DID come back?
This is where the conversation gets interesting.
Imagine your phone rings tonight and there they are.
What would you want them to say?
And more importantly, what would need to be different this time?
Because wanting someone back and wanting the exact same relationship back aren't necessarily the same thing.
5. You’re allowed to wonder about them and still enjoy your life
I think sometimes people feel like they have to choose.
Either “I’m completely over them!” or “I’m waiting for them.”
Life isn't always that neat.
You can miss someone and still have a beautiful day. You can wonder about them and still go on a date. You can still love someone and also start becoming happy without them.
Both things can be true.
6. Here’s a question I love asking
Do you want them back - or do you want to know that they still want you?
Ouch.
But think about it.
If your ex called tomorrow and said, “I made a mistake. I want you back,” would you immediately say yes?
Or would part of you simply feel good knowing that they finally realized what they lost?
Sometimes that's where the real answer is hiding.
7. “Will they come back?” might not be the only question
Of course we can ask that.
But when I'm doing a reading, I usually want to look a little deeper.
What is still connecting the two of you?
What is standing between you?
Is communication likely to open again?
Has anything actually changed?
And one of my favourites:
“What do I need to know about this relationship right now?”
Because sometimes that question tells us much more than a simple yes or no ever could.

I've heard some version of this story thousands of times over the years - and every relationship is different.
Sometimes people reconnect. Sometimes a conversation finally happens. Sometimes someone comes back and we realize we don't feel the same anymore. And sometimes the person we were so sure we couldn't get over eventually becomes someone we can remember without that little ache in our stomach.
Love is funny like that.
